Today’s post is something a little bit different, and it’s for all the diamond jewelry lovers out there. If you’re thinking about getting a nice diamond ring or some cute necklaces/earrings, then you want to feel confident that you’re buying proper diamonds from a responsible brand. This might sound easy, but it’s a lot harder than it should be!

That’s where Rare Carat comes in. It’s a leading jewelry brand with thousands of positive customer testimonials, and it keeps being recommended by friends when talking about diamond jewelry. I wanted to discover if it was worth the hype, so here’s my honest review and experience with Rare Carat.

    About Rare Carat

Let’s start with a quick history lesson because it’s quite interesting to learn about this brand’s background. I didn’t know this when I first visited the site, but it started back in 2016 as a search engine for diamonds. It basically let users search for diamonds and compare prices across the US before pivoting to a retail business model in 2021.

That’s where it’s at today, and you can buy diamonds directly from Rare Carat while getting some great savings thanks to its large supplier network. It offers rings, loose diamonds, and pre-made jewelry pieces that include diamonds embedded in them.

Overall, you get a lot of choice, but let’s dig a bit deeper to discover some of the key talking points that arise when you shop at Rare Carat.

    Lots of Customer-Friendly Policies

One of the reasons I was drawn to Rare Carat was the fact that it came top of Trustpilot’s ratings for the “best jewelers” in the country. Its five-star average rating is made even more impressive by the 2,900+ reviews, way more than any other jeweler on the list.

As I had a look around the website and learnt more about its policies, it became evident that these ratings were born from the brand’s desire to be as customer-friendly as possible. It genuinely wants you to have a fair and enjoyable experience when buying diamond jewelry, and that’s reflected in these three features:

    • 30-Day Money Back Guarantee: Every customer gets 30 days to decide if they want to keep their diamond jewelry or not. You might not be totally satisfied with the product when it arrives, and you can return it for a full refund.
    • Free Shipping & Returns: A lot of jewelers will charge for shipping (and returns), but Rare Carat makes both options free for the customer.
    • 90-Day Resizing Options: What if you buy a diamond ring and it doesn’t fit? Well, you have 90 days to return it for different sizing options. Again, Rare Carat covers all of the delivery and shipping costs, making the process a lot easier.

You usually see some jewelers with maybe one or two of these benefits, but rarely all three. Also, the 90-day resizing option is a good 30 days longer than some of its top competitors, which is really useful if you’re unsure about the size or are buying something as a gift that won’t be given until a few weeks later.

Interesting AI Technology & Quality Scores

Quality is the most important aspect of buying diamond jewelry. You don’t want to splash the cash, only to realize you’ve pocked a low-quality piece with almost no resale value. Rare Carat provides quality ratings for each diamond product, which basically gives it a score out of 18. This makes it easy to see which diamonds are of the highest quality.

Alongside this comes a really innovative feature that’s powered by AI technology. Rare Carat used to be a price comparison site for diamonds, and it built on this by using AI to take each product and compare it with thousands of other similar diamonds from different suppliers. The result is a little tag under each listing that tells you if the product is a “great price” or not.

It’s a neat feature, but you almost have to take the company’s word for it because there’s no way of actually comparing the prices yourself.

    Very Affordable Diamonds

Honestly, it was surprising to see so many affordable diamonds on this website. It looks like a site that sells six-figure diamonds and nothing else, but you can find ones for a few hundred dollars with ease.

After a bit of digging, I discovered this was partially down to how Rare Carat operates. It has really low operating costs compared to other diamond jewelers, which means it can pass on these savings to the customer. You can still find million-dollar diamonds on the platform, but even those have savings attached to them!

On top of this, the brand has different financing options for you to choose from, which should make it easier to afford even the most expensive pieces.

    Lots Of Ethical Diamond Options

There’s a massive demand for ethical diamond jewelry options right now, so it’s nice to see Rare Carat with plenty of choices. You can go down the lab-grown route for completely sustainable and ethical diamonds, or you can pick their natural diamonds, all of which are marked as conflict-free.

If you want to learn more about the different diamond options or what makes something “conflict-free”, then Rare Carat has plenty of resources for you to look at. That has nothing to do with the overall quality of their products, but it’s a nice touch that helps users learn more before buying.

The Verdict – What’s Rare Carat Really Like?

As you can see, there are loads of aspects of Rare Carat that make it a very popular and impressive online jeweler. It does so many things well, and to be honest, there’s only one minor drawback when you compare it with other companies. You don’t get any maintenance or repair services from this jeweler, which means you have to go elsewhere for your jewelry care.

Is that the biggest deal in the world? No, but some jewelers do offer services like this, so it’s something that has to be noted down. All in all, it doesn’t alter the overall feeling of Rare Carat, which is that this is a brilliant brand to go for if you’re trying to buy diamonds or diamond jewelry to accessorize an outfit. It’s got tons of customer-focused features, and you’ll struggle to find better value-for-money diamonds anywhere else online.

As with any purchase in life, make sure you do plenty of research before deciding to buy anything!
