    It’s impressive what a human being can create with his own hands. One of the most amazing things that have been manufactured by humans is buildings. A building can be a house that we live in, a big mall where we can have fun, or even larger and more breathtaking buildings. 

    The most important characteristic that every building has to have in common is durability and good construction. Otherwise, if a structure is not constructed with the best materials, it would be very dangerous for people who live inside, especially if an earthquake happens or any other physical phenomenon.     The pyramids were originally built as tombs for the pharaohs and their companions and were constructed using massive stone blocks that weigh up to 80 tons. Today, many people around the world visit this place to admire these absolutely amazing Pyramids.

    2. Colosseum, Rome

    Moreover, another very durable building in the world is the Colosseum in Rome. Actually built over 2000 years ago, and it was used by the Ancient Romans for gladiatorial contests and other spectacles that people really enjoyed watching. Despite being partly damaged by earthquakes, fires, and other reasons, the Colosseum still stands today and it’s one of the most impressive landmarks of Italy.

    3. Parthenon, Greece

    Additionally, another really durable building is located in Athens and it’s widely known as the Parthenon. This temple has stood for over 2,500 years and has survived multiple earthquakes, fires, and wars. The Parthenon was built using a combination of marble and limestone, and it’s one of the most significant architectural modules around the world.

    Despite how many years passed by the day the Parthenon was constructed and the numerous events it has survived, the Parthenon remains one of the most well-preserved structures in Greece. 

    4. Hagia Sophia, Turkey

    Last but not least, another very durable building is Hagia Sophia in Turkey. More specifically, Hagia Sophia is a cathedral located in Istanbul, Turkey, and was built in the 6th century. This magnificent structure withstood multiple earthquakes, fires, and other disasters over the centuries. Hagia Sophia is considered one of the most important examples of Byzantine architecture and is renowned for its impressive ceiling, which was the largest of its kind in the world for over a thousand years.
